Name: Lavender Skies Nicknames: Lavender, Lav, Sky Gender: female Species: pegasus Special Talent: painting clouds and decorating the sky Residence: Cloudsdale
Personality: Lav is a giggly pony. She likes to be around others and have a fun time and make commentary on her surroundings. She's an ambivert, though, so while she enjoys being with others, she needs her time to herself. She usually 'recharges' by reading, drawing, and listening to music by herself. Likes: The arts, clouds, natural monuments (like waterfalls, canyons, and mountains), sweet things, and toys. Dislikes: 'Extreme' weather (very cold and frozen, blistering hot, super rainy, etc.), clingy ponies, running, waiting, and internet trolls. Strengths: Able to find the positive in things, kind to most, has a soft spot for young ones, and knows a lot. Flaws: Snaps at ponies easily if stressed/over socialized, blunt in strong opinions, sarcastic when stressed (to the point of being rude), and doesn't speak her feelings well. Fears: Being burned (physically, not verbally lol), snake/spider bites & scorpion/bee stings, and not being able to fly. History: Lavender was born in Cloudsdale to two pegasi, grew up just like any other pony, and wasn't anything especially intriguing to anyone. She was a late bloomer getting her cutie mark. The pegasi foals went around Cloudsdale visiting the weather factory, the delivery stations, the transportation centers, and even the Flying Hall of Fame. Lavender was not the last in her class to get her cutie mark, but her blank flank was beginning to be a concern to her parents, who both got their marks early on.
In order to explore possibilities, her parents took her around Equestria to visit places where unique talents are found. After a summer of traveling the land, she still hadn't found what made her special. She was on the porch of a cabin in the mountains near the end of their trip, trying not to hear her parents' concerned talking inside. Lavender watched the sun set over the mountains, feeling that the golden view was missing something. She lifted her hooves and tried to look at the horizon from a different perspective. And then, Lavender felt that she had something important to do. She flew high, choosing a cloud from above the cabin and brought it back down to the porch before she ran inside. She parents asked what she was doing, but all she did was reply that she had an idea. She fetched her paints and ran back to her cloud, beginning to coat it in a pale purple. Her parents watched as she colored a cloud the way workers in Cloudsdale's weather factory did.
When she had finished, she look back at the horizon and then to her parents. Asking for her mother's help (her mother being a skilled and fast flier), she brought the cloud out far over the landscape and then returned to the porch where her father stood proud. She looked out again at the sky and smiled. With the purple cloud now in the sky, light reflecting off it and making others purplish as well, the sunset looked complete. A tickle on her flank alerted her to the mark that had now appeared-- three clouds. Her talent would be decorating the sky for everypony to admire.
Why she is how she is...
in relativity to myself: Lav has personality traits and interests similar (maybe identical) to my own. I made her a pegasus because I like that race most and I love to fly. Her talent is cloud-painting because I am an artistic person, but the 'pencil', 'paintbrush', and 'colors' CMs are just a bit too overdone for me. I am fond of her colors, even though they seem a bit bright, because they remind me of G3 ponies, which is the generation I grew up with. She's just generally meant to represent me.
in relativity to the character universe: Lavender is interested in nature, sweets, and toys because she appreciates all things cute. She wants to be able to make others happy, and shows that in her interests. She dislikes extreme weather because it usually means monotonous work for her, a long time making the same clouds, or working on things that other ponies are just going to dislike. Bites, burns, and stings scare her because she really doesn't like pain or the unknown. She's blunt and rude-r when stressed because she tries so hard to be kind, but she becomes unfiltered when stressed. Just doesn't care much; wants to not be stressed. Wants to be really happy. Her strengths are the things they are because she remembers that lonely feeling when others looked at her funny without a cutie mark, and she doesn't want others to feel that way.
